What does "change yourself" mean? When you walk into a dojo looking to begin training, it is because you believe that training may, in some way, improve your life. To be sure, this can be an accurate belief if you find a good dojo.
Yet, from the moment we begin training many of us try as hard as we might to refuse to change. We are training to change, but refusing to do so. Instead, when you make the decision to begin training aikido understand that training will change who you are. One of the most courageous things you may do in your martial career will be to step onto the mat and embace the change aikido can make your life.
The change may simply be physical or it may be more than that. The amount of change you will undergo is dependent upon your decision to make a change. However, understand that serious martial education is designed to transform you into a stronger, better person who is capable of more.
