The dojo certifies rank through the ASU. Aikido South administers tests in accordance with the requirements set forth by the ASU. The dojo reserves the right to test students when appropriate. Aikido South recognizes 6 degrees of white belt prior to receiving black belt status. These 6 degrees are listed in reverse numerical order (rokyu, gokyu, yonkyu, sankyu, nikyu, ikkyu). New students who have no rank are considered mukyu (no rank).
Non-ASU students are invited to train at the dojo, but they will not be eligible for testing or rank promotion.
